So we have more reasons to celebrate ahead of Independence Day when Prime Minister Narendra Modi unfurls the tricolour from the ramparts of Red Fort in New Delhi. But even as we wait for that day to arrive, why not binge watch on these Independence Day movies and bring out the patriot in you? Because these Indian patriotic movies will surely do that. This Vicky Kaushal starrer will be launched in Telugu on ZEE5 right before Independence Day. One of the biggest superhits of the year, this patriotic film, also starring Paresh Rawal and Yami Gautam, deals with the events related to the surgical strike conducted by the Indian Army against militants in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to avenge the attack on the army camp in Uri.

Naa Peru Surya Na Illu India


This Allu Arjun, Anu Emmanuel and Elli Avram starrer Telugu movie is the story of Surya, an Army man who has been suspended because of his temper. Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran


This 2018 Hindi movie starring John Abraham, Diana Penty and Boman Irani among others is based on the true event of the nuclear tests conducted in Rajasthan. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha


As the saying goes, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country. This Akshay Kumar and Bhoomi Pednekar starrer, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, is the story of Keshav and Jaya who belong to villages near Mathura which do not have access to toilets, for most parts. When Jaya finds out post marriage that Keshav’s house doesn’t have a toilet, she leaves. Watch how Keshav battles age-old mindsets to build a toiler and bring her back.



This Telugu film might be old, but it’s one patriotic movie we will never fail to watch every Independence Day. The added bonus? It brings together two greats – Victory Venkatesh and Kamal Haasan.
