They had a registry marriage which was performed at Srijit’s Lake Gardens, Kolkata, house and exchanged rings. The couple first met on the social networking site Facebook. “We had common friends, and became close down the line,” Mithila was quoted saying in an interview. They later worked together on Arnob’s music video which was made by Srijit’s production company. Post work, they remained in touch and love blossomed soon enough.

Next Stop

The next stop for the couple is Geneva and Srijit and Mithila are already headed that way. The Swiss city is not their honeymoon destination though. Mithila is starting her PhD at the University of Geneva, which is why they are headed there. The couple plans to do a short honeymoon in Greece.

Mithila’s Story

Mithila was previously married to Bangladeshi musician Tahsan Rahman. They got divorced in 2017. They also have a daughter, Aira. Check out Srijit and Mithila posing with Aira here. Right now though, Mithila doesn’t have any plans to move to Kolkata.

A Development Worker

While Srijit is known for his films, Mithila works at BRAC International where she heads the Early Childhood Development Programme, overseeing projects in countries such as Uganda, Tanzania and Liberia where they encourage learning through play. Sounds like a hectic day job.
