Heavy Rain Lashes AP-Telangana, IMD Issues Alert
While at least 14 have died in Telangana following incessant rains, four have been killed in Andhra Pradesh due to heavy rains and waterlogging.
Normal life has been thrown out of gear in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as heavy rains lash the two states, leading to water-logging in several parts. At least 14 people have died in rain-related incidents in Telangana, which has been witnessing heavy rain since last two days. In Andhra Pradesh, seven have reportedly died in rain-related incidents. IMD has, meanwhile, warned of thunderstorms along coastal regions in Andhra Pradesh, a day after a deep depression in the Bay of Bengal crossed the coast near Kakinada. Heavy rains are expected to lash Andhra over the next 24 hours.
Isolated to scattered, light to moderate rains likely over Davanagere, Chitradurga, Mysuru, Tumakuru, Ramanagara and Mandya districts was reported at 4:42 pm. Isolated very light to light rains likely over remaining districts of South Interior Karnataka stated Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre. River Musi began flowing over Chaderghat New Bridge in Hyderabad at 4.35 pm. AccuWeather said at 4.22 pm, rain to continue in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh till Thursday (October 15).
