Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani Orders Probe In Ahmedabad Hospital Fire Incident
Eight people lost their lives in the fire that broke on Thursday morning.
Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani has ordered a probe into the Ahmedabad hospital fire that occurred on Thursday morning and took the lives of 8 patients. The Shrey Hospital was a COVID-19 centre and the fire is believed to have been caused by a short circuit in its Intensive Coronary Care Unit. The police have been asked by the CMO to submit a report within three days. CM Rupani has also announced ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of those killed and Rs 50,000 each to those injured.
Of the eight who lost their lives in the Ahmedabad fire, five were men and three were women. The CMO said, “CM Vijay Rupani has ordered a probe in the incident of fire at Shrey Hospital in Ahmedabad. Sangeeta Singh, Additional Chief Secretary (Home Department) will be leading the probe. The CM has ordered a report within 3 days.” The Shrey Hospital has been sealed for now and its 41 patients have been shifted to the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Hospital in the same city.
