Gopalganj Bride Collapse Triggers Political Row In Bihar
Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav has launched an attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and demanded his dismissal.
A part of the Sattarghat bridge, which was inaugurated in Gopalganj 29 days ago by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, collapsed into Gandak river yesterday. This incident has led to a political slugfest in the state. Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has accused the Nitish Kumar-government of being corrupt and demanded the Chief Minister’s dismissal. In response, Minister Nand Kishor Yadav said that the news of the bridge collapse is wrong. He stated that the bridge has not broken, the road leading to it is still intact and people have got a wrong impression as the area gets flooded during rains.
During a debate on the same issue, Janata Dal-United (JDU) leader Ajay Alok, who is also a doctor by profession, made serious allegations against Yadav and accused him of roaming around with an army of rapists. The latter is the son of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav.
