From traditional sarees to ethnic kurtis- a look at how the actress’s on-screen style has changed over the years.

Tejashri Pradhan‘s role as Shubhra in Agga Bai Sasubai has become quite popular owing to her progressive nature. She has been instrumental in breaking stereotypes on the show by helping her mother-in-law Asawari’s remarriage with Abhijeet. She supported this decision by going against her own family including Ajoba and her husband Soham. Shubhra’s free-thinking approach has helped her keep a check on Soham’s behaviour post Asawari’s marriage. Shubhra manages both her personal and professional life efficiently. Tejashri’s portrayal of such a head-strong, logical woman deserves to be applauded.

Watch Tejashri play the role to perfection here.

Another noticeable thing about Shubhra’s character is the way in which she carries herself. Her dressing sense speaks tons about her personality. Check out this look of hers where she sports a yellow kurta, with a funky printed chunni and gorgeous silver danglers.

This look of Tejashri’s is way different from the one she carried off in Honar Sun Mi Hya Gharchi. In this serial, Tejashri’s style comprised heavy traditional silk sarees, teamed with gold jewellery, as you can see in the picture below. The open hair parted in the middle gave a simplistic touch to the look. Tejashri’s three-layered mangalsutra made her appearance further traditional and her character came across as the typical daughter-in-law that she was.

Tejashri portrayed the role of Janhavi in this popular Zee Marathi drama. She played the love interest of Shri, a rich industrialist who stays in a family consisting of only females. After Shri and Janhavi’s marriage, the latter works her way up in dealing with the six women in the house who the former considers as mothers. Tejashri’s stellar performance of Janhavi stole the show which boasted of a solid star cast comprising actors like Rohini Hattangadi, Shashank Ketkar, Supriya Pathare, and others. Her look in the show also garnered praise from the audience. Similar is the case with Tejashri’s current look in Agga Bai Sasubai.

Shubhra has become a trendsetter by ditching the traditional look and opting for a more modern yet ethnic look. She has grabbed eyeballs with her contrasting kurtis and dupattas, teamed with unique and stylish earrings. Shubhra proves that a daughter-in-law need not be dressed traditionally, just because she has a certain role to play. With her unconventional appearance, the beauty makes a statement and is more relatable for the youth as well as all the young bahus out there. What say?
