We all know that Gayathrie Shankar made her debut with 18 Vayasu and made a mark with her performance in Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom. The actress has hit the headlines after she posted a throwback picture with a powerful message that talks about self-confidence. She has beautifully penned her feelings in the post where she opens up about her lack of self-confidence. Like most of us, she has also been insecure about her body despite having a svelte hourglass figure. Gayathrie tries to explain that insecurity has nothing to do with the looks but one’s state of mind(mental health).

Watch Media Reviews Of Fingertip:

The actress took a trip down the memory lane and dug a picture from an old photoshoot album. She mentioned about having low self-esteem back then and couldn’t post this picture on Instagram. Sharing the picture of her slimmer version on the photo-sharing app, the actress wrote, “#throwback to a time when I looked like this and didn’t feel confident enough to post this picture! A lot of people look at me like I’m crazy when I tell them I’m insecure about my body. Insecurity has nothing to do with how you look. It’s more a state of mind. Mental health is probably the most overlooked problems of our times.” Mental health is indeed overlooked instead of being addressed. However, we shall start that from now.

She beautifully explains how everyone has their moments of anxiety and struggle with how they look and how they feel about their body. Urging her fans to overcome the fear and learn to accept themselves, the actress shared, “If you’re reading this and if you look in the mirror and only see things that are wrong with you. You’re not alone. It happens to the best of us. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Every scar, mole, stretchmark is a milestone in the story of your journey, and every story is unique. It’s what makes you, YOU. Make peace with it. Accept it. Love it. Trust me, a little self-love every day goes a long way! Thank you @suresh.menon and @vinothdk for being catalysts in my journey of self-love and pushing me out of my comfort zone (sic).” Like Gayathrie says, a tad bit of self-love will do miracles, changing the way you feel.

On the work front, the actress was last seen in a ZEE5 web series Fingertip, which also featured Akshara Haasan, Ashwin Kakumanu, Sunaina in the lead roles. Ever since Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom, the actress has been a part of films like Ponmaalai Pozhudhu, Rummy, Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren, Puriyatha Puthir, among others.
