1. Ki Kore Bolbo Tomay

If television serials are your jam, and you are wondering which are the top shows that you can move on to and binge-watch, we’ve got you covered! From the award-winning Bengali TV serial Rani Rashmoni to the ever-popular Ki Kore Bolbo Tomay, do check out this list and be sure to catch up with them when you crave quality entertainment.

Ki Kore Bolbo Tomay revolves around the vivacious Radhika (played by Swastika Dutta), a young girl who lost her parents at a young age, was left by her groom-to-be and is now a successful designer at a corporate company. She starts falling for her boss, the intimidating Karna Sir (played by Krushal Ahuja), and the show follows the friendship they start to develop. This one is everyone’s favourite!

2. Rani Rashmoni

Rani Rashmoni is based on the historical character of the Rani of Janbazar (played by the young and talented Ditipriya Roy), who devoted her life to helping the poor and marginalised members of the community and built the famous Dakshineshwar Temple in Kolkata. This is where Gadadhar Chattopadhyay, who later came to be known as Paramahansa Ramakrishna, served as a priest. This Bengali serial won the Zee Bangla Sonar Sansar Award in 2020 for being the most-watched show on ZEE5. Little surprise, as this show is highly riveting, telling us all about the lives of the royal family and also stars actor Gourab Chatterjee as Mathurbabu.

3. Trinayani

Trinayani is a supernatural show which is all about the life of Nayan (played by Shruti Das), a woman with a special gift. She can see into the future and also has visions of the past! However, she often thinks it is also a curse because of the misfortunes that come her way and the mistreatment that many people subject her to. However, she is a strong woman and takes everything into her stride. She gets wedded to Dripto (played by Gourab Roy Chowdhury) and the two make a rather fascinating pair!

4. Nakshi Kantha

Nakshi Kantha is a drama about the fated lovers Jash (played by Suman Dey) and Shabnam (played by Manali Dey) who even get married, but then are torn apart by the vicious Rohini, who conspires against them, almost manages to murder Shabnam, and forces a relationship with Jash. However, Debdeep marries Shabnam thereafter, but Jash and Shabnam still clearly harbour their old feelings toward each other.

5. Krishnakoli

Krishnakoli  is about the protagonist Shyama (played by Tiyasha Roy), who is a fantastic devotional singer. Her dusky complexion earns discrimination from some ignorant people, but she shakes them off and overcomes all sorts of adversity and gets married to her beloved Nikhil (played by Neel Bhattacharya). Things take a turn when her adversaries seem to get the better of her and she meets with a fatal accident, which was actually planned by them. However, a young girl called Maam appears and enters the lives of Nikhil’s family. The twist? She looks exactly like Shyama and even sings like her! Get to the bottom of the mystery by watching the show.

6. Alo Chhaya

‘Alo’ is light and ‘Chhaya’ means shadow. Alo and Chhaya are two girls who are cousins and grow up together. Alo is an orphan, and in this serial, we see how one decision she makes which alters her life forever. She gives up her own identity to lead her cousin’s life, and of course, this has consequences that mean that there is no going back. Starring Debadrita BasuArnab Banerjee and Oindrila Bose,  Alo Chhaya explores the aspects of growing up, getting married and simultaneously juggling a career.
