While talking about the film earlier, the director, in a conversation with a newspaper, had stated, “My film is more of a situational comedy, which revolves around heroine’s lost slippers. The story moves forward whenever those slippers reach a new place. Some scenes of the movie make you emotional, too.”
So, here we bring you five good reasons to watch the film.
The one thing that instantly attracted us and developed the desire to watch the film was its very own title ‘En Aaloda Seruppa Kaanom’. It definitely piqued curiosity among the movie buffs. In fact, even before the announcement of the cast, the title of the film had an impact across the masses.
Fascinatingly, talented actors like KS Ravikumar, Balasaravanan, Livingston and Jayaprakash featured in the film En Aaloda Seruppa Kaanom, besides Tamizh, Anandhi, and Yogi Babu. But a little credit also goes to the filmmaker, who’s been a phenomenal orator, to have convinced all these artists into believing in his story.
The music by Ishaan Dev is all pretty catchy. I personally loved the song ‘En aaloda seruppa kaanom, adha thedi thedi alayiren naanum‘, which was crooned by Silambarasan aka STR and Simbu, This soulful song, that beautifies the essence of true love, marks the 100th song of the actor as a playback singer. Moreover, the background score by Deepan is also quite impressive.
Strong performances by the actors definitely elevate this comedy-drama. Tamizh of Pasanga-fame is great, but the supporting cast has also managed to match the standards that are set. But I must say, Yogi Babu is the cherry on the icing.
In the film, Sandhya (Anandhi) loses her sandals, that are gifted by her dear father who works in Syria, on a bus journey. Krishna (Tamizh), who has a huge crush on Sandhya, goes in search of the footwear as it means a lot to the girl. Meanwhile, militants kidnap Sandhya’s father in Syria. And Sandhya and her mother, who meet an astrologer, are told to find the lost pair of footwear and they will find the father. So, here begins Krishna’s ordeal in finding them as an attempt to impress Sandhya and make her fall in love with him. Well, it’s a very unusual plot but the film is sure a delight to the audiences for its bizarre love story and hilarious touch.
Speaking of critics, some loved the adventures and characters that the hero comes across during his search for the missing pair of sandals interesting, while some found the storyline not so enthralling, but regardless, the film makes for an entertaining watch, courtesy Yogi Babu’s comic timing. Stay tuned!
