Defense Minister Rajnath Singh Inaugurates 43 Bridges Via Video Conferencing
Sources state that the newly built bridges will prove very helpful in the movement of troops and weapons during the time of crisis.
Amid the ongoing India-China border tensions in Eastern Ladakh, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated 43 bridges made by the BRO (Border Roads Organisation) on Thursday, September 24. According to the news reports, these 43 bridges are constructed in border areas of Ladakh, Sikkim, Punjab, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir. The Defense Minister inaugurated these bridges located in seven states and union territories via video conferencing at 10:30 AM. Sources state that these newly built bridges are located in strategically important areas and will prove very helpful in the movement of troops and weapons during the time of crisis.
Out of the 43 bridges, two are in Himachal Pradesh, seven are built in Ladakh, 10 are in Jammu and Kashmir, eight each in Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh and four each in Sikkim and Punjab. Singh also confirmed that several other infrastructural projects are lined up that will immensely benefit the Indian armed forces.
