Heavy rainfall, floods and the Coronavirus outbreak are making the situation worse in the state of Bihar. Despite all the claims at the Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH), the healthcare services are very poor. In the video, a young patient is seen lying on the ground with an oxygen cylinder. This is the same hospital in which Health Minister of Bihar Mangal Pandey paid a visit, a few days back. Amid the rising COVID-19 infections in Bihar, shocking stories of deceased patients’ bodies lying in hospitals and family of the deceased carrying bodies in an auto was seen in the state capital’s second major hospital.

Videos of NMCH hospital’s negligence went viral. After the death of the Coronavirus patient in the ward, the corpse remained on the floor for two days. In another case, the family of a deceased brought the body out of the ward and put it in an auto to take it to the funeral ground. According to the protocol, when a patient dies of the disease, health workers pack the body in plastic and perform the last rites. But rules are being flouted at NMCH Patna.
