China Is Watching: Key PMO Officers, DGP, State Chief Secys Being Tracked

Report suggests more than 370 officials being monitored by Chinese firm.

A new report has come forth that states that a Shenzhen-based firm is tracking more than 370 Indian officials. Key bureaucrats in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officers in infrastructure ministries, Chief Secretaries and Directors General of Police (DGPs) of states are among those that are being monitored under the Overseas Key Information DataBase of Zhenhua Data, a Chinese IT firm in Shenzhen. Most of the bureaucrats being tracked are serving right now, but some are also retired.

It’s worth knowing that the Zhenhua Data company from China tracks about 2.5 million individuals across the world, including at least 10,000 Indians. Among the bureaucrats working under the Indian Prime Minister are Amarjeet Sinha, the newly appointed adviser in the PMO. Moreover, the list also includes Sumita Misra, the Joint Secretary of the PM’s Economic Council and Ashish Kumar, the Private Secretary to Jitendra Singh, Minister of State in PMO.
