Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mayawati said that the Centre and State governments are not at all concerned about the poor and homeless migrant workers in the country. As per an ANI report, she was very saddened to see how the poor, hungry, and helpless migrant workers are struggling to return their homes. Mayawati says that the ongoing struggle of the migrants shows that the Central and State Governments are not worried about them.

Further, she said that on the 65th day of lockdown, it’s is a relief that courts have started questioning the Central and State Governments regarding the treatment of COVID-19, the deterioration of government hospitals, negligence of private hospitals, and rising deaths of migrant labourers.

Earlier, Mayawati had stated that the poor migrant workers cannot be blamed for a surge in COVID-19 cases. The Central and State Governments are to be blamed as they have completely failed in tackling the Coronavirus crisis efficiently. Mayawati claims that she had tried to urge Central and State governments to provide all the necessary financial support and stable income resources to migrant workers to help them become independent in this pandemic.
