CBI Expected To Summon Rhea Chakraborty For Questioning Today
Rhea to be summoned by the CBI today, who may take action against her if she fails to give satisfactory answers
The special team from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) working on the Sushant Singh Rajput case in Mumbai, is expected to summon prime suspect Rhea Chakraborty for questioning today. If not satisfied with her responses, the CBI may act against Rhea. The police are keen to understand the circumstances under which Chakraborty left the Kedarnath actor’s home on 8 June.
Meanwhile, Sushant’s cook Neeraj Singh and flat mate Siddharth Pithani were grilled yesterday at a guest house by the investigators. Pithani, Singh and another staff member, Deepesh Sawant will be quizzed again today, after contradictions were found in the statements of Pithani and Neeraj Singh.
The CBI conducted a full search of the film star’s residence again and video-graphed the entire building. They also confiscated the entry register from the building watchman. A recreation of the crime scene is expected to be done again, after the forensic team raised some doubts about the same done on Saturday.
Inconsistencies in the actor’s post-mortem report have surfaced, with the time of his death missing. On being questioned, the doctors said that Rajput had died about 10-12 hours before his autopsy.
The statement of Sushant Singh’s former accountant Rajat Mewati, who took care of the actor’s funds till January 2020, will also be recorded by the CBI squad.
