After a months-long lockdown, the unlocking phase has begun in several states across the country. Many states have allowed the reopening of temples, theatres, gyms, conditional to safety restrictions being followed. Ahead of the festive season, temples in Maharashtra remain closed. To protest against this, priests and religious leaders from different temples took to the streets. According to the latest news reports, on Tuesday, October 13, many Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers also protested against the Maharashtra government outside Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak temple. The police detained several protesters for breaking the rules and safety protocols.

The BJP workers asked if the government has allowed bars, restaurants, and other public places to reopen why is it not re-opening temples? According to sources, a meeting will be conducted today to resolve the issue, and soon after considering all the factors, the government will take its final call.
