Ayurvedic Doctor Arrested For Serial Killings By Delhi Police
Serial killer Devender Sharma, a BAMS degree holder, is allegedly the mastermind behind killing over 50 people between 2002 and 2004.
Delhi Police Crime Branch team has arrested the serial killer who allegedly masterminded the killing of over 50 persons between 2002 and 2004, including truck and taxi drivers across the capital city and neighbouring states. The serial killer was arrested from Baprola area where he was living after jumping parole in January, according to the police. Devender Sharma (62), a BAMS degree holder, hailing from Purreni village in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh district, was apprehended six months after jumping parole in a murder case. The police said Devender Sharma was convicted in several cases of kidnapping and murder.
Devender Sharma was arrested twice earlier for running a fake gas agency in Uttar Pradesh. He was also jailed for running the infamous kidney transplant racket of 2004 in different states. He was accused of having done more than 125 kidney transplants. From 1994 to 2004 Sharma reportedly claimed to have carried out kidney transplants, illegally, for which he got Rs five to seven lakh per case. The police claimed he may have been involved in more than 100 cases but could not confirm the exact figure as the cases registered against him in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan were investigated by the state police concerned.
