Arbaaz Khan’s Poison Has A Connection With Salman Khan’s Film Garv: Pride And Honour?
New ZEE5 original Poison is making all the right noise amongst the netizens. The revenge thriller stars Arbaaz Khan, Tanuj Virwani, Riya Sen and Freddy Daruwala in the lead roles. It is mention worthy that Arbaaz returns as a baddie for Poison, after a nearly grey character in Dabangg. His dialogue from the web drama “Acche loggon se nazdeeki aur mujhse doori, zindagi salamaat rakhein,” is a catchy punchline we cannot get enough. However, there is something rather nostalgic that caught our attention.
If you watch the above teaser clip closely, Arbaaz makes a cross sign in one of the scenes. That scene instantly reminded us of Salman Khan‘s film Garv: Pride and Honour. Salman, who played a police officer in the movie, would use a similar cross sign every time he’d go after a criminal. The sign in the flick meant the countdown of the criminal’s death has begun.
In an exclusive conversation with us, Arbaaz elaborated, “This is more of a reflex thing that you’d be crossed from my life.” The scene, however, was left out on the edit table and didn’t make it to the episode. You can only watch it in the teaser of Poison.
The 11-episodes-long series is based in Goa and Arbaaz is portrayed as the king of the drug-ridden kingdom, Antonio Verghese. He is an influential business figure during the broad daylight who has the power to turn every no into a yes. But his dark side involves killings, extortion, smuggling and drug peddling. His real estate company Horizon Infra is a coverup for all his white collar crimes and drug mafia image.
Directed by Jatin Waghle, Poison is packed with all the elements to keep you on the edge of your seat, biting your nails as you progress through the episodes.
