Rajasthan is witnessing swift political developments that have alarmed the ruling Congress party in the state. The party seems to be in deep trouble after Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of trying to topple his government. Speculations are rife that Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot is unhappy with Gehlot. A day after Rajasthan Police filed an FIR against two men, alleging their involvement in horse-trading of Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to topple the state government, a crisis seems to be brewing within Rajasthan Congress.
The current flashpoint between the two, Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot, in Rajasthan, is a probe ordered by the state police into “poaching: of MLAs, and a notice sent to Pilot, which has not gone well with him. The Rajasthan police issued notices to Gehlot and his deputy, Pilot, to record their statements in connection with the alleged attempts to topple their Congress government, sources said on Saturday (July 11). Rajasthan Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) charged two persons with sedition and criminal conspiracy.
