Air Quality Index In Delhi Deteriorates Due To The Unlocking Phase

The AQI during the lockdown was around 50 but due to the unlock phase, the AQI in Delhi is currently lies between 100-200.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) showed a considerable improvement in many Indian states after a complete lockdown was imposed to curb the novel Coronavirus. Delhi, which is known to have the worst air quality, also showed improvements. However, now that the unlock phase has begun and the national capital is getting back to normal, the air quality has started to worsen once again. According to experts, the deteriorating air quality will worsen the health of Coronavirus patients in Delhi and it would be difficult for the government to save the city if such situation continues.

Locals in Delhi have already started complaining about breathing problems and respiratory issues. The AQI during the lockdown was around 50 but now in the unlock phase, the AQI in Delhi has boosted tremendously and currently lies between 100-200.
