Agga Bai Sasubai: 5 Reasons Why Shubhra And Asawari’s Equation Is Our Favourite
Agga Bai Sasubai is a popular family drama that airs on Zee Marathi. The show has touched a chord with the viewers owing to its progressive content. While the story is essentially about middle-aged couple Abhijeet and Asawari who are currently trying to settle in their newly married life, it has now shifted focus to Asawari’s troublesome and spoilt son Soham. Fortunately his wife Shubhra is quite the opposite, who helps Asawari whenever the latter’s patience is being tested by Soham. They share a great bond and are seen standing up each other, through thick and thin. When all hell breaks loose, they have each other’s backs which is the best thing about the two. We just cannot get enough of their beautiful equation! Here’s why Shubhra and Asawari’s relationship is our absolute favourite.

1. They always support each other
Both Shubhra and Asawari stand by each other, especially during the toughest of times. This support extends beyond doing just household chores. They help each other deal with the problems in their personal lives too. Shubhra turns cheerleader for her mother-in-law’s decision to get remarried to the love of her life, Abhijeet. She also fights for Asawari even when others in their family are against this decision.
2. They accept each other unconditionally
Shubhra is the torchbearer of a progressive mindset and manages the house like a total boss lady. Be it her official work or the household chores, Shubhra handles everything efficiently. Asawari accepts her the ways she is and Shubhra doesn’t stop the former from displaying her motherly love for Soham. They respect each other’s individuality and accept one another unconditionally.
3. They stand up for each other
Shubhra and Asawari stand up for each other against all odds. Even though Asawari’s marriage was a topic of taboo in their family, Shubhra was the only one who fought for her. She even voiced her opinion against Ajoba and Soham’s orthodox thinking. Shubhra believed that just like others, Asawari had to right to start afresh. Recently, even Asawari took a stand for Shubhra and went against her beloved ‘babdya’ Soham. Remember how she brought Soham to his senses by slapping him for being rude to Shubhra? Yes, that’s exactly how strong women empower other women.
4. They share a great friendship
Shubhra and Asawari’s relationship breaks all stereotypes surrounding the equation between mothers and daughters-in-law and is a reminder that two parties can be friendly and close.
5. They are protective of one another
They are fiercely protective of each other. Shubhra makes it a point to protect Asawari from Pradnya who spews hatred even when she speaks. Shubhra doesn’t let Asawari get affected and shields her from Pradnya’s evil demeanor.
