1. Equality

Ritabhari Chakraborty, the gorgeous heroine from the latest Bengali film Shesh Theke Shuru, which also stars Jeet and Koel Mallick, has become one of the most popular names in Tollywood. She has previously appeared in several movies, including Chotushkone and Once Upon A Time In Kolkata. She made her TV debut in the serial Ogo Bodhu Sundari, and continues being a prolific artiste. She is also known for her work in social service and runs an NGO of her own called SCUD Society for Social Communication. Today, as we are faced with the challenge of the Coronavirus crisis and practice self-isolation, Ritabhari extracts seven important lessons from it on her social media page, that would serve us to remember forever. We got them for you below.

Ritabhari points out that this pandemic underlines the intrinsic equality of every human being. This virus can affect anyone and everyone at all and no one is immune to it, making this phenomenon an equaliser of sorts. Each person is capable of contracting and spreading it to others. We should remember this and treat every human being with equal consideration and respect.

2. We are all connected

The crisis has also exhibited how connected all of humanity has to be in order to flourish. We are all united in our efforts to overcome this hurdle, as the implications affect us equally and it is within our best interests to proceed onward in solidarity.

3. Health is wealth

Indeed, this fight ultimately comes down to preserving our health, which is key to thrive and live a good life. Health may be easy to take for granted when it is there, but we only realize how valuable it is once it is threatened. As Ritabhari says, “Health is precious. Eat right, exercise, build immunity” as that is what can save us.

4. Life is temporary

We are also reminded of the impermanence of life — how temporary and fleeting it is when one sees it from an objective perspective. Our time here is limited, and this fact can help us to continue to strive to do and be better.

5. Importance of families

This pandemic has reinforced how important our families and loved ones are to us. We feel fortunate if we are with them during this period of self-quarantine, and miss them and are concerned about their safety if we are not. We should hold on to this aspect and remember it at other times, too.

6. Learn from mistakes

As we stay at home and self-isolate, we have a lot of space to reflect on our selves and our past. It is worth learning from our previous mistakes in order to secure a brighter future for ourselves. This crisis too was caused by a few mistakes, so it behooves us to be careful and not repeat them in the future. We must take safety measures and follow all directives correctly to overcome this problem.

7. Respect nature

We are learning to give nature the respect it deserves as we are seeing the repercussions on our environment that there maybe when we abuse it. Conversely, we are also learning to appreciate it more from our homes, as the lockdown and reduction in a human activity outside have helped the air become fresher and roads becoming cleaner. However, as we cannot go outside, we are reminded of how important nature is to sustain us.
