Potato Wedges

It’s the monsoon season and it’s natural to get cravings for some lip-smacking snacks while enjoying the rain. Going outside is not always preferred, which is why we have shortlisted easy recipes that you can make at home.

The first recipe is Potato Wedges. To make this recipe, take a medium potato and cut into 8 wedges, 1 tbsps cumin seeds, 12 black peppercorns, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, sea salt, 3 tbsp refined flour and oil.

Boil the potato wedges for 2 minutes. Take cumin seeds, black peppercorns, red chilli powder and seas salt in a mortar and pound with a pestle. Take the potato wedges in a bowl, sprinkles some of the pounded masala and mix. Add refined flour and sprinkle a little water and mix. Heat enough oil in a kadai and deep fry the wedges, a few at a time, till golden and crisp. Sprinkle some pounded masala and serve it with tomato ketchup.

Sev Boondi Bhel

To make Sev Boondi Ki Bhel you need 1 cup sev, 1 and ½ cup masala flavoured boondi, 1 raw mango, 1 medium onion, 1 medium tomato, 1 and ½ tbsp chaat masala, 2 tbsp coriander leaves, 1 tbsp chopped mint leaves, 1 ½ tbsp green chutney, 1 ½ tbsp tamarind chutney, ¼ cup pomegranate pearls.

To begin with, take a bowl and add ½ chopped raw mango, 1 chopped medium onion, 1 chopped tomato to the bowl. Next add masala boondi, sev, chaat masala, coriander leaves, mint leaves and mix everything nicely. Add green chutney, tamarind chutney and lemon juice to the mix. Lastly, add some pomegranate pearls and serve it.

Masala Chai

How can we forget Masala Chai? To make this rejuvenating drink you will need 4 tsp tea leaves, 1 cup milk, 4 tsp sugar, 3 green cardamoms and 1-inch ginger. To begin with, first, boil 1 and a half cup water in a pan. Pour a half cup water in a cup and keep it aside. Take another pan and boil half cup water and add crushed ginger and crushed cardamom in it. Add sugar and bring to boil. Add tea leaves and boil for a minute. Add milk and let t boil for another minute. Now take the teacup which was set aside and pour masala chai in it. That was quick, isn’t it?

Corn Bhel

To make Corn Bhel you will need 2 cups corn flakes, 1 medium chopped cucumber, 1 potato boiled, 1 medium chopped onion,  1 medium chopped tomato, ¼ cup pomegranate pearls, ¼ cup finely chopped raw mango, 1 tsp dried mango powder, 1 tsp chaat masala, 1 tsp black salt, salt, 2 tbsp coriander leaves, 1 tbsp lemon juice and sev.

To begin with, take a bowl and add cucumber, potato, tomato, pomegranate pearls, chopped raw mango, corn flakes, dried mango powder, chaat masala, black masala, black salt and salt. Mix it nicely and add coriander leaves and lemon juice. Lastly, garnish it with sev and your dish is ready to serve.

Mozzarella Stuffed Chilies

To make Mozzarella Stuffed Chillies you will need 250 grams grated Mozzarella cheese, 8 Jalapeno, 8 bhavnagri green chillies, 2 tsp dried mixed herbs, 1 cup corn starch, salt, 2 cups bread crumbs, oil.

To begin with, take the grated cheese in a bowl and add dried mixed herbs. Now remove the seeds from the bhavnagri and jalapeno chillies and stuff the mixture in them. Next, make a batter by mixing cornstarch, salt and water. Dip the chillies in the same and roll it in the bread crumbs. Repeat the process for better coating. Heat sufficient oil in the frying pan. Deep fry the chillies till it gets golden brown. Once done, move it to a plate and serve it hot.

American Sev Puri

To make American Sev Puri you will need 1 cup boiled American corn kernels, 24 canape cases, half cup sev, 1 tbsp oil, 1 chopped medium onion, 2 chopped red chillies, 1/4 cup sweet red chilli sauce, 1 tsp chaat masala, 1 tbsp, mint leaves, 1 tbsp lemon juice and 2 tbsp chopped parsley.

To start with, heat oil in the pan. Add onion and saute. Add fresh red chillies, sweet chilli sauce and toss the ingredients. Add chaat masala, mint leaves and coriander leaves. Cook until dry. Take another kadai and heat oil for deep frying. Add the canapes and make sure that it does not get burnt. Remove the extra oil from the canapes using a tissue and let it cool. Next, add lemon juice to the corn mix and place the mix canapes. Lastly, sprinkle sev on it and serve.
