In Saajana, Pratap’s family is slowly learning to accept his and Rama’s relationship. Luckily, for them, it isn’t as hard as we thought it would be. In fact, Aaisaheb, very generously, even made gold ornaments for Rama when she gets married to Pratap. Now, as we can see the marriage bells ringing in the near future, we thought of chalking out ways how Rama can be a good daughter-in-law to Pratap’s parents. Have a look!

Watch an episode of Saajana below:

1. Learn to co-exist

You are going to have to share your spouse with his parents as, after all, he is their son first. You can’t get possessive and try to pressure your spouse into reducing contact with his parents after you both get married.

2. Pay attention

As your spouse’s parents are growing old, don’t neglect them. Instead, pay attention to their advice and make them feel just as important. You may, at times, even disagree with their advice but don’t outrightly bash it. Later, you can choose to do what you want with that advice. Be open to taking their suggestions and make them feel validated.

3. Keep you in-laws in the loop

If there is a family function or you want your in-laws to take care of your kids then, inform them in advance since even they might have their plans. By telling them at the last moment, you will be just creating more agitation and taking them for granted.

4. Don’t nag

When you have a family reunion, don’t use that opportunity to complain about your spouse to his own parents. It doesn’t matter even if you are on good terms with your in-laws, you have to understand that they are still his parents. You and your spouse should resolve the dissatisfaction amongst yourself as much as possible rather than involving the third party.

5. Let them spoil their grandchildren

Every grandparent feels the need to spoil their grandchildren. You don’t have to feel competitive and try to stop the in-laws from gifting your kids. By doing that, you will just be hurting their feelings and restricting their right to pamper their grandchild.
