Gauri and Gautam’s wedding brings all the delicious dishes in our mind. We have listed some for you!
We love exploring different cuisines in real life and through the movies we watch. By now, our list of to-be-visited restaurants is exploding more than ever. On one such account, while watching Mumbai Pune Mumbai 2 on ZEE5, we got to experience the true essence of Maharashtrian food through Swapnil Joshi and Mukta Barve’s onscreen wedding. Just like us, if you attend marriages to meet the food (rather than the bride and groom) then we can be besties.
Watch Mumbai Pune Mumbai 2 below and salivate over these yummy delicacies
Otherwise, if you are wondering what’s with the hype about the food of MPM2, then, the list of Maharatrastrian dishes below will justify it.
1. Bharli Vangi
Constituting of eggplant, this dish is seen in most of the Maharashtrian households. To give it authentic feels, you can blend it with the ground peanut powder (danyacha kut) while cooking. This gives the preparation a texture.
2. Masale Bhaat
When basmati rice is cooked with cauliflower, eggplant, carrots and peas, you get masale bhaat. Being a standalone superstar, it is usually made during Maharashtrian festivals like Gudi Padwa, Dussehra and weddings.
3. Varan Bhaat and Tup
As its taste slowly unravels in your mouth, you will fall in love with this authentic Marathmoli dish. Varan is basically a dal without any ‘fodni‘. Don’t forget to add in a teaspoonful of pickle at the side when you eat it with rice.
4. Tomato Saar
You can have the red sauce all you want, but, nothing can beat the magic of tomatocha saar. Prepared with blanched tomatoes, this serves as a substitute for varan. However, us being the Joey of our squad, we prefer both the alternatives. (Remember: Joey doesn’t share food!)
5. Puran Poli
Nothing in more satisfying than a dollop of tup spread on Puran Poli with lukewarm milk. This is a perfect way to wrap up your meal (or begin with, if you are one those people who prefer desserts over the main course).
Which dish amongst the above is your most favourite one? We would love to know!
