1. Raghava Lawrence

The first two instalments of this superhit franchise have managed to keep the audiences hooked with their stellar storylines, the spooky scenes and even the music. Wondering if you should watch the fourth part of the Kanchana franchise, which kicked off with the film Muni, released in 2007?

He is a choreographer, an actor, a director and a playback singer. Raghava Lawrence is multi-talented. Though he made his debut in 1993 as a choreographer, within five years he did his first film as an actor and adopted the name Raghava. Muni was one of his biggest breakthroughs. He has picked up three Nando awards for best choreography. He’s directed Kanchana 3 as well.

2. It’s horror

While Hollywood, Japanese and Korean film industries have given us many successful horror franchises, such examples are few and far between in Indian cinema. Across the various film industries, we hardly have a handful of horror films which stand out. But the Kanchana franchise has managed to always spook us. Here’s hoping Kanchana 3 won’t be any different.

3. There’s comedy as well

Kanchana 3 has elements of comedy as well as a refreshing break from the constant spook-fest. The humour by Suri works well. Like in the previous instalments, the funny scenes featuring franchise regulars such as Kovai Sarala, Sriman and Devadarshini will keep you entertained.

4. The story

The story pretty much takes off from the earlier movies in the franchise. So there’s your isolated haunted bungalow, a ghost who narrates its tale to the family members so that they become sympathetic and let it enter the protagonist’s body and get its revenge.

What happens next? Wait to watch Kanchana 3 in Telugu on August 23, on ZEE5, before TV.
