ZEE5 Announces 20+ Zindagi Shows Of Heart-Touching Stories To Make Your #SummerOfEmotions

With the spirit of positivity and optimism even in difficult times of a pandemic stricken world, ZEE5 brings you the #SummerOfEmotions bouquet of new shows. Nine interesting and out-of-the-box series are going to premiere on May 1, 2020, exclusively on India’s largest OTT platform. Revolving around family, love, friendships and relationships, these stories will calm your lockdown blues and transport you into the interesting lives of the characters. Of course, we as a culture love and relate to stories that are full of emotions. So, experience a plethora of feelings through these unique tales. Read ahead for more details of the upcoming shows.

Starring actors Imran Abbas and Maya Ali, the first show is a romantic-drama series titled Mera Naam Yousuf Hai. It is the forbidden love story of Zulaikha and Yousuf who go through trials and tribulations, owing to their family’s prejudice. Secondly, depicting the love tragedy of Elma and Ramish is the series Tum Kon Piya, starring Imran Abbas and Ayeza Khan. It is based on author Maha Malik’s best-selling novel by the same name. Actor Imran has also worked in Bollywood films, namely Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Creature 3D.

Up next, you will see Bunty I Love You, which tells you the story of a Dania, a widow essayed by actress Saba Qamar. She inherits all of her late husband’s wealth and spends it on her love interest, Bunty, essayed by Noman Habib. Then fourthly, Baaghi is the 28-episode romantic-drama series, literally meaning ‘rebel’. It revolves around Fauzia (Saba Qamar), who aspires to be a model and marries Abid (Ali Kazmi), who he promises to fulfil her dream but later abandons her. Saba has also starred opposite Irrfan Khan in the Bollywood movie Hindi Medium.

Diyar-e-Dil, meaning ‘Valley of the Heart’, follows the story of how two grandchildren become the cause of reuniting a family that once fell apart. In lead roles, it stars Abid Ali, Maya Ali, Osman Khalid Butt and Sanam Saeed (also seen in Zindagi Gulzar Hai). Furthermore, the next drama series is O Rangreza, the story of a girl named Sassi (Sajal Ali), who aspires to be glamorous like Sonia Jahan (Sana Fakhar), a woman who her father adores. Actress Sajal has starred with Sridevi in MOM and actress Sonia has worked with Sunny Deol in Kaafila.

Then, we have Babi Jani, the family-drama series that revolves Asfand, who takes upon himself to look after the whole family and tolerates his sisters’ wrongdoings against his wife and step-daughter. It stars Faysal Qureshi and Madiha Imam (seen in Dear Maya with Manisha Koirala). The next series is titled Durr-e-Shehwar, also known as Dhoop Chhaon (sun and shade). It is a heart-wrenching story that portrays the mother-daughter bond during a dysfunctional marriage. It stars Samina Peerzada, Sanam Baloch, Nadia Jamil, Qavi Khan and others.
