YouTube Shorts Starts Rolling Out Globally In More Than 100 Countries

Youtube Shorts has now started rolling out globally, in as many as 100 countries. It is Google’s short-form video service and is an obvious competitor to TikTok. As per reports, it was officially launched in September 2020. The primary advantage of Youtube Shorts over TikTok for creators is the ability to tap into Youtube’s massive library of audio content to include in their shorts.

As per a leading daily, In April, the platform announced that it ‘continues to gain popularity with over 6.5 billion daily views as of March, up from 3.5 billion at the end of 2020.’ The daily also reported that ‘Google’s service is pushing Shorts’ integration with the wider YouTube ecosystem as a key selling point’

The platform recently introduced a new feature for  Shorts creators to take audio from YouTube videos. It is reportedly ‘exploring ways to offer quick links from Shorts to YouTube videos they’ve taken samples from’, reported the daily.
