Yash Raj Films To Vaccinate 30,000 Film Workers Registered With FWICE
Yash Raj Films has stepped in to get film workers vaccinated. The production house has written a letter to CM Uddhav Thackeray for helping them vaccinate 30,000 film workers.
A prominent Indian filmmaker has stepped in to help film workers procure a vaccine. This filmmaker is none other than director Aditya Chopra. The ongoing pandemic has severely affected the country. Yash Raj Films in a letter to FWICE has revealed that they would like to vaccinate 30,000 film workers with the COVID-19 vaccine. FWICE has also forwarded this letter to Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray.
The second wave of the pandemic has resulted in mass casualty in the country. Many people are suffering and have also lost their lives due to shortage of medical resources. Hence, Bollywood celebrities have stepped in to help the common public. Some of these celebs are going out of their way to help people during this difficult time. The latest addition to this list is, Yash Raj Films.
Yash Raj Films have written a letter to FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) requesting Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray to provide 30,000 vaccines to film workers. Yash Raj Films is ready to bear the expenses for the same. The Federation has urged that if this demand gets approved it can help a lot of workers who have suffered tremendously due to the pandemic. Moreover, this will help kickstart several shooting schedules that have been halted.
Due to the second wave, Maharashtra government had ordered to stop shooting for any film or TV show. But still several film producers have chosen to shoot their projects outside Maharashtra or on the border of the state. Before writing this letter to FWICE, Yash Raj Films has already played a major role in helping people out during the pandemic. Now, the production house has stepped in to vaccinate workers who are registered with FWICE.
Talking about the federation, nearly 1.5 lakh workers are registered with them. But for now, Yash Raj Films has decided to first support 30,000 of them. Moreover, FWICE has also applauded this move by the production house and hence forwarded the letter to CM Thackeray. But for now, the Chief Minister is yet to respond to this request.
