June 21 is World Music Day. This day was dedicated to music back in 1982. Ever since, it is observed across the globe to celebrate the freedom, openness and spirit of the art of music. World Music Day is also known as Fête de la Musique (Festival of Music) as, on this day, the French composer Maurice Fleuret started the tradition of holding a music fest in Paris. Well, thanks to Maurice, who was also the Minister of Culture for the French government (1981), music was made a connecting dot for various cultures and traditions.
