Drawing concern towards the issues nature is facing, the day marks a great start for many new habits. Vivekh

Late actor Vivekh stood as one of the biggest environmentalists in Kollywood till his last breath. Having become a self-proclaimed ambassador of the green revolution, Vivekh promised himself to plant as many trees as he can. The Padmashree awardee planted about 33.23 lacs plantings, with a target of 1 crore trees before he passed away. The actor was a prominent presence at almost all go green drives across the state where he could be seen distributing plant saplings.

Vijay

From being the Brand Ambassador of the World Environment Day to asking his fans to not missing out on any challenges to planting trees, Vijay has always been pro green revolution. Vijay rarely uses social media, but when he does, he makes sure it is put to good use. The Mersal actor who stands away from all online challenges happily takes up challenges like planting trees or saying “no to crackers” which stands for a good cause, proving that he is always up for a good initiative.

Ajith Kumar

Actor Ajith Kumar is a star on and off-screen. From being a racecar driver to being a charitable figure, he has always been on the good side. However, not many know that the actor is also an environmentalist. Ajith is known for keeping a low profile in real life. The actor knows how to put his large fan following to use as he often asked the members to plant saplings across the state and help in segregating garbage. Ajith, who can often be seen asking his fans to stop using crackers for celebrations, at point proposed planting at least 1 lakh saplings annually and requested his fans’ help.
