WION conducted an exclusive conversation remotely with ISRO Chief, Dr. K Sivan. In this interaction, the chairman of India’s official space body talked about the newly introduced reforms in the space activities of the country. Mr Sivan spoke about the newly introduced organization named IN-SPACe, which happens to be part of the reforms meant to increase private participation in the space sector.

He also talked about its objectives, and the future of space exploration, by explaining it to be a separate entity with its own chairman. The plan of encouraging private participation in the space sector is a long term.

When asked whether  IN-SPACe or some other private player will take over the activities at ISRO; Mr Sivan cleared the air by saying that it’s still ISRO who will be in charge of everything since we are the sole body that allows other players to do the job.
