Will KL Rahul Have A Spot In The Pink Ball Test Lineup Against Australia?
According to experts, KL Rahul might not have a spot in the batting lineup in the upcoming test series unless the management pulls off a surprise. Have a look at the experts’ take.
KL Rahul was not a part of the pink ball practise test matches held recently and the line-up has been leaving quite a few people confused. According to most analysts, KL Rahul might not be a part of the pink ball test in Adelaide, against Australia. In his place, Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill have been spotted taking up spaces in the Indian cricket team batting line-up. The opening might be done by Shubnam Gill as most former cricketers including Sunil Gavaskar, have been rooting for him. Some experts have also been of the stance that KL Rahul might find a place once Virat Kohli goes off for his maternity leave but the chances of such a replacement are currently low.
Here is a look at the ZEE5 video with all details related to the pink ball test that starts on 17th:
KL Rahul’s absence from the Pink ball practice matches at Adelaide has left the fans worried about the line-up that has been fixed for the upcoming test match against Australia. In the video attached above, Vaibhav Bhola is seen speaking about why KL Rahul was not a part of the test practice batting line up. He is of the stance that KL Rahul has not been delivering well in test matches since the last few years. This might be the reason why he has not been given a spot in the current lineup.
The discussion also highlights the fact that there are chances of KL Rahul’s appearance in the pink ball test lineup but the chances are negligible. Since KL Rahul is an opener, he must start off with Mayank Agarwal but that spot seems to be occupied by Prithvi Shaw or Shubnam Gill. So KL Rahul will probably be kept out of at least the first test match against Australia.
After Virat Kohli’s return, there might be an open spot for KL Rahul that will probably be taken up by Rohit Sharma as he is planning to join back by the third pink ball test match. In case of Prithvi and Shubnam, they will at least play two tests matches this season as the management does not, generally, let the play go right after the first test match. So in conclusion, KL Rahul might not have a spot in the upcoming pink ball test match against Australia.
