West Bengal: COVID-19 Patient Allotted Bed Next To Dead Body
A patient who exhibited symptoms of COVID-19 had to spend the next day in close proximity with a dead body in a West Bengal hospital.
Amid the ongoing Coronvairus pandemic, the healthcare services in India have faced a lot of criticism for their improper functioning and negligence. Recently, a shocking video from West Bengal hospital went viral. A patient who exhibited some symptoms of COVID-19 had to spend the next day in close proximity with a dead body. Narrating his account, the patient said that he was taken to the isolation ward at the College of Medicine and Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Hospital in Nadia district and later he found out that the bed allotted to him was right next to a dead body.
In several parts of the nation, healthcare facilities are still inadequate, which is causing a lot of trouble for the patients. Some patients even claimed that they had to wait for hours outside the hospital to get a bed whereas some complained that the hospital authorities charged heavily to treat them.
