We Are Working Step By Step In Restoring Electricity, Says BMC Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal
Maharashtra’s Energy Minister Nitin Raut confirmed that the power cut was caused by a technical failure at one of the power supply circuits at the MSETCL station at Kalwa.
Today a major electricity supply failure in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region led to a power outage all over Mumbai and in the adjoining regions. The Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) which is responsible for supplying power to the city and Maharashtra’s Energy Minister Nitin Raut confirmed that the power cut was caused by a technical failure at one of the power supply circuits at the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited’s 400 KV supply station at Kalwa. BMC Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal said that they are working on restoring the power supply and have made tremendous progress so far. They are working step by step to avoid tripping.
Key stock exchanges BSE and NSE, hospitals, local train services were interrupted due to grid failure. But now the situation has got better as many places have regained power.
