Watch: This Temple In Himachal Pradesh Could Have Hidden Treasure!
Legend has it that huge treasure lies buried inside the Kamrunag Lake.
The Kamrunag temple in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh is the source of a legend that says that the lake right outside it has huge treasures buried underneath it. Several people have tried to retrieve it over the years, but none have managed to find it. The area’s geography is a big reason for it. The Kamrunag lake is situated 3334 metres above sea level. The lake has also been mentioned in India’s ancient epic, the Mahabharata.
According to the Mahabharata, Sage Prashar had meditated on the banks of this lake, hence it’s also sometimes referred to as Prashar Lake. The gist of the story is that after the Kurukshetra war, the Pandavas were returning with Lord Kamrunag. When they reached this spot, Kamrunag loved the tranquil surroundings and decided to live here forever. That’s when Bheema rammed his elbow onto the ground that created a big dent that turned into a lake.
