Vijay Deverakonda sheds ‘blood and sweat’ for upcoming film Liger

Vijay Deverakonda and the team of Liger have finally resumed the shoot. Vijay Deverakonda shared a glimpse of the shoot on Instagram as he is back in the ring.  Vijay Deverakonda in his latest post said  “BLOOD. SWEAT. VIOLENCE. LIGER .” Liger will see Vijay playing the role of an MMA fighter. As we speak, social media is going buzz over his toned figure in the picture he shared.

It is said that VD is leaving no stone unturned to get his body at par with his role. Kuldip Sethi is VD’s personal trainer for Liger. Reports revealed that the actor will be seen as a monster, a beast that has never been seen on-screen. Devarakonda plays a kickboxer with a stutter in the film. He underwent a dramatic physical transformation for his role and went to Thailand for special martial arts training. Janhvi Kapoor was the first choice to portray the female lead, but due to the clashing of dates, she was replaced by Ananya Panday. 

Liger is under Karan Johan’s Dharma Productions

Liger is directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced jointly by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Bollywood’s young diva Ananya Panday is all set to feature in this Pan-Indian film opposite Vijay Deverakonda. Liger is being shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi languages and will be dubbed in different other languages. The film’s music is composed by Mani Sharma. 

Liger’s cinematography is handled by Vishnu Sarma and Kecha from Thailand is the stunt director. Ramya Krishnan and Ronit Roy play significant roles in Liger. 

Filming began on 20 January 2020 in Mumbai, with the tentative title Fighter. But 40 days of shoot was completed when the production was halted in March 2020 due to the lockdown in India. The second schedule of shooting will take place in Hyderabad.
