Vidyut Jammwal Reveals How He Nailed The High-End Action Scenes In ‘Commando’
Bollywood action king Vidyut Jamwal opens up on how he nailed his action sequences in the film Commando and which action scenes he would never be able to do.
Vidyut Jamwal is popularly known as the king of action sequences in Bollywood. He rose to fame when he started appearing in the Commando series. The series of films followed the story of an Indian Commando named Karanveer Singh Dogra. During an interview, Vidyut Jamwal got candid and opened up on how he nailed his action sequences in the Commando film series.
Vidyut Jamwal admitted that he has a curious mind and every time he visits a place, he makes sure to notice everything around him. Be it a mall, or someone’s house or a studio where he’s at an interview, he makes sure to be alert and look around him to see which weapons are used in everyday life. He said, “I teach self-defence and teach people to how to protect themselves at a bar, in public transport and this is why I’m alert and I make note of things that can be used as self-defence.”
When Vidyut Jamwal did the first film of the Commando series, people walked up to him and told him that he did a lot of action sequences in the film and also asked him about his other action films. That is when the action king started to think of possibilities and the variations he would show in his action films. Although Vidyut Jamwal is known to be the best action star of Bollywood, he admits he cannot compete with his co-star Adah Sharma, who delivered action sequences wearing six-inches of heels.
Vidyut’s character as Karanveer Singh Dogra is inspired by Karan Singh, the Dogra dynasty ex-crown prince of Jammu and Kashmir. Vidyut is trained in the Indian martial arts of Kalaripayattu and performs his own stunts in his films. All the three films of the Commando series were praised by the audience and the critics and were also a hit at the box office.
