Indians form one of the largest expatriate groups in Bahrain. Of the nearly 13 lakh people residing in the country, an estimated 4 lakh happen to be Indians. And as per a 2010 census, Hindus comprise 9.8 per cent of the population in the country. The burqa-clad woman being seen in the video can apparently be heard saying, “this a Muslim country.” Back in 2017, Bahrain had closed down its main secular opposition group National Democratic Action Society (Waad), marking a major blow to dissenting voices in the country.
