Though she hailed from Chennai and debuted in Tamil cinema first, Ramya Krishna turned popular among the Telugu audience. She was one of the top five heroines of Telugu cinema during 1990 with others being Nagma, Meena, Roja, and Soundarya. Her cast as Neelambarai, the antagonist in Rajinikanth’s Padayapappa saw her reaching the pedestal. And, the role of Rajamata Sivagami in the Baahubali franchise sealed her place in South Cinema as the most talented actress.
