The Coronavirus pandemic is spreading like wildfire in the United States. The nation has been one of the worst affected in the world. So far, 3.4 million cases have been recorded in the US and more than 1,37,700 deaths. According to latest reports, 60,000 new Coronavirus cases have been recorded in the last 24-hours and at least 40 states have witnessed a surge in COVID-19 cases. Florida becomes the new epicentre of COVID-19 cases in the US after it recorded more than 15,000 cases in the last 24 hours. The spike in cases in Florida comes after Disney World was opened in the state.

Even though the cases in the US are skyrocketing, people are protesting against wearing masks as the activists consider it to be infringing upon their individual choice of freedom. Amid all these tensions, the Trump administration has called for reopening of schools even after the CDC (Centre for Disease Control) issued a strict warning.
