A resolution was introduced in the United States Senate on Thursday condemning China’s aggression towards India at the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The resolution, introduced by a bipartisan group of two legislators, aims to change the status quo at the LAC that lies between the borders of the two Asian nations. Senator John Cornyn, who is a Senate Majority Whip and Senator Mark Warner, a Democrat who is a ranking member of the Senate Select Committee in Intelligence spoke about the Galwan valley clash that took place on June 15.
In a joint press statement released by the two Senators, Cornyn said, “As a co-founder of the Senate India Caucus, I know firsthand the importance of a strong relationship between the US and India. I commend India’s commitment towards standing up to China and maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific. It is more important than ever that we support our Indian partners as they defend against Chinese aggression.”
