US Based United Airlines To Cut 2,850 Pilot Jobs Due To COVID-19 Pandemic
United Airlines also announced that approximately 36,000 jobs are on the line in their company.
United Airlines which is headquartered in America is preparing for the biggest pilot layoff. The Airlines announced on Thursday, August 28 that it will cut 2,850 pilot jobs or about 21 per cent of the total workforce. The aviation industry has been severely affected due to the ongoing novel Coronavirus pandemic and this the reason United Airlines has taken such a step. The planned cuts will run between October- November. Experts claim that the recovery of the travel sector across the globe is far away considering the losses incurred and disturbances caused in the operations.
United Airlines further conformed that approximately 36,000 jobs are on the line in their company. Various other airlines have also cut jobs as they do not want to incur more losses in the coming days. According to the news reports, the aviation sector will remain the worst affected until the COVID-19 situation gets normal.
