Two Militants Gunned Down By Indian Security Forces In J&K’s Pulwama District Today
While two terrorists have been killed in the ongoing operation in Tiken in Pulwama , the police and army personnel are searching for more militants who may be in hiding
Indian security forces shot down two unidentified terrorists today morning in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. In the ongoing operation in the Tiken area, news came in of the two militants being neutralised in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. The team on ground is searching for more intruders who may be hiding in and around the location.
The local police and security personnel initiated a cordon and search operation in Tiken after they received information of a possible transgression by terrorists. The exercise however turned into an encounter as the suspects opened fire on the authorities.
Pulwama has always been a soft target for extremist infiltrators who transgress from Pakistan to cause trouble on the Indian side. The district is infamous for one of the most brutal attacks by terrorists on Indian soldiers in February 2019, when a convoy of vehicles carrying Central Reserve Police Force was waylaid by a suicide bomber in Lethipora in Pulwama. The blast resulted in 40 soldiers dying in the attack masterminded by the Jaish-e-Mohammed terror group.
