Avula Ramesh Reddy, who took charge as the new superintendent of police of the Tirupati on Saturday, promised to contribute 50% of his salary to fund the education of students in the temple city.

“It is an honour to be the SP of the Tirupati urban police wing whose jurisdiction includes the world-renowned Lord Venkateswara temple at Tirumala. My top priority would be to uphold the peaceful environs of the temple city which is thronged by millions of devotees from across the globe besides the population living here”, said the new SP.

He also conveyed his thanks to Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy for allowing him to serve his home state after being in service away from home for almost 13 years.
