Throwback: Watch Deepika Padukone’s Heartfelt Speech About Her Nervousness For Padmaavat’s 3D Release

A film’s release can be a very close and personal subject for all those who have been a part of a particular project. So when Deepika Padukone’s film Padmaavat was released in a 3D format, the actor turning intuitive and emotional about it was only natural. In a throwback video of a press conference held back then, Deepika can be seen talking about the nervousness she felt during the film’s release.

At a press conference held during the 3D release of the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial Padmaavat, its lead actor Deepika Padukone revealed that she could not remember the last time when she felt as nervous as she was feeling at the time. The actor said that the nervousness stemmed from her belief that the film was one of a kind and evidently stood apart from the other ones she had been a part of before.

She added that this intuition was not from her heart or mind, but that it was from her gut. In the throwback video of the press conference, Deepika also stated that it was an extremely emotional journey for the cast and crew of the film, especially after the launch of its trailer. The response and reactions that Padmaavat‘s official trailer received had been overwhelming for her and the rest of the team. While there were riots breaking out in parts of Rajasthan alleging that the film had distortion of history in it, Deepika said that she went into a group hug with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and others. That is how overwhelming it was.

The actor was extremely proud of the film and its 3D version, which according to her was a huge milestone for the entire team of the film, and Indian and world cinema. Going into further details in the throwback video, Deepika Padukone further revealed that when she initially began shooting for films with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, she constantly felt the need to prepare and rehearse her steps for the songs she had to film next. However, halfway through their second film together, Bajirao Mastani, Deepika realised that working with the director was all about trusting the process and going with the flow. Talking about the song Ghoomar in the film Padmaavat, she emphasised how she focused on understanding and learning the overall essence of the song instead of just its choreograph
