Bollywood actors often refrain from sharing an opinion on current affairs mainly due to the effect such comments have on their careers and box office collections. During the promotion of the film, Thugs of Hindostan, actor Aamir Khan had refused to comment on a controversial issue when a journalist asked him his opinion on places of worship and their significance. The actor said that he does not wish to comment since his film is on the verge of releasing and he does not wish to be an epitome of controversy in such a situation. He also assured that he will put his stance forward once his movie has released and everything settles. Various actors have faced extreme outrage in the past for their take on newsy subjects.
Here is a look at the ZEE5 video with details related to Aamir Khan’s smart response to a tricky question:
In the video attached above, actor Aamir Khan can be seen speaking about his film Thugs of Hindostan, along with the rest of the cast, which includes Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif, amongst others. In the video, Aamir Khan is asked to comment on a case which was under judgement at the Supreme Court, at that time. The question was regarding religious places and the people’s need to go out and pray while the same can be done at home as well. Aamir Khan was asked his stand on the topic but his team was quick to interfere and encourage media to only stick to questions related to the film. The actor also added on to this and told the man that he will not comment on it at the moment.
Aamir Khan and his wife, Kiran Rao, were also under the radar when they made a comment on ‘intolerance in India’. They were quick to get trolled by right-leaning supporters while a few others also stood with the country. In another similar case, actor Deepika Padukone had faced serious backlash for showing up at a peaceful protest at JNU Delhi after a series of violent incidents at the campus.
