Three Reasons Why Chennai Super Kings Lost To Rajasthan Royals
Chennai’s second IPL game didn’t quite go it’s way.
The Chennai Super Kings lost to the Rajasthan Royals by 16 runs yesterday in a high-scoring IPL game that was also marred by some controversy. MS Dhoni appealed for a catch he caught behind the stumps when Tom Curran was batting. The umpire initially ruled him out, but still went upstairs to the third umpire who said that the catch was grounded and the ball had never even hit Curran’s bat. Anyway, that’s not one of the three reasons why the Chennai Super Kings ended up losing the game.
Prime among the reasons was that Chennai bowlers let go of too many runs, which allowed Rajasthan to always stay on top. The second reason was, of course, Sanju Samson’s phenomenal innings that saw him scoring 74 runs off just 32 balls. While Steve Smith also scored big, he was no match to the blasting innings that Samson played. The final reason for the loss of the Chennai Super Kings was that none of its batsmen got going, except for Faf du Plessis.
