Various Challenges That Women Face
As Megha was talking about the challenges women face while trying to achieve their dreams, the Apna Time Bhi Aayega actress agreed that women do face a lot of different types of challenges. While citing her own experience, the actress was quoted saying, “As a woman, there have been very few experiences where I have faced something discriminative”. But she also added that many a time there is a sense of assumption that someone can’t do a certain thing because she’s a woman.
Talking About Her Engineering Phase
Megha is different from Rani in many aspects, but there are definitely certain things that she has in common with her reel life character. One such thing is their choice of a dream career. Just like Rani even Megha wanted to become a mechanical engineer. While talking about this phase the actress was quoted saying that when she wanted to pursue her dream of becoming an engineer, she was often told, “It’s not something that girls should pursue, because it requires a lot of manual work”.
While Megha says that there is an assumption that women are physically weaker than men, in some aspects she does agree with it. But she also mentions that in her case, engineering, people who wish to pursue it know what they’re getting themselves into and are aware of their capabilities. She concluded by saying that we know what our capabilities are and should definitely chase our dreams according to that.
In accordance with this year’s theme for Women’s Day, which is #ChooseToChallenge, Megha challenged all her lovely viewers to, “Rediscover yourselves!”. She also mentions that there is an assumption in society that women are often dependent on someone, whereas, contrary to that Megha feels that the more time we spend with ourselves retrospecting and learning about our strengths and weaknesses, we realize that we don’t actually “need” anyone to take care of us.
You heard the lady, this Women’s Day it’s time to spend some quality time alone and rediscover yourself.
