SP Vinay Tiwari, who arrived in Mumbai yesterday to join the investigating team from Bihar, has been quarantined by the BMC, without any previous intimation

In an unexpected development in the Sushant Singh Rajput case, Vinay Tiwari, Superintendent of Police (SP), Patna city, has been quarantined in a Mumbai guest house. The senior police officer, arrived yesterday, to head the four-member team from Bihar police for further investigations in the case. He has been kept in the State Reserve Police Force guest house (SRPF guest house).

Bihar police has claimed that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has forcibly quarantined the IPS officer to put a spoke in the wheel of the ongoing investigations. They have further said that this is not a quarantine but equivalent to a house arrest.

Gupteshwar Pandey, Bihar Deputy General of Police (DGP) has tweeted his discontent on this matter. The late actor’s sister, Shweta Singh Kirti has also expressed shock over this unanticipated move by the Maharashtra government. Through her tweet, she asked if an officer on duty can be quarantined like this.

Questions on the isolation of the Bihar SP have been raised as the Bihar police team that came to Mumbai a week back was not quarantined. Further, there was no intimation received by the Bihar police on the quarantine of SP Tiwari.

As startling revelations continue to emerge in the Bollywood star’s case, the friction between the Bihar Police and Mumbai Police also seems to be intensifying.
