Sushant Singh Rajput Case: News Anchors Turning Into Political Weapons?
Arnab Goswami threatens Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray that if a Shiv Sena member is linked with Rhea Chakraborty, he will lose his chair.
The probe into actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death by suicide hs spiralled into a political slugfest with several media outlets blaming the Thackeray government for shielding the accused and implying that Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s son Aditya Thackeray was involved in it too. In this episode of Editorial, Managing Director Mr Sujit Nair shares his take on the matter. He says, “As media, our job is to your watchdog. I always believed that. Our job is to ensure we keep you informed of whatever, the discrepancies that are happening in the government or wherever.”
Nair further asked, “What happens if the media starts acting like a weapon for a political party?” Then, he showed a video clip in which news anchor Arnab Goswami quotes Uddhav Thackeray, “I will not give the case to CBI. Who is he saving now?” Goswami then openly threatens Thackeray on national television by saying, “If any Shiv Sena politician, junior or senior, has a link with Rhea Chakraborty in Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide, you will lose your chair.”
